MELBOURNE - Dec 11/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak front will pass to the south of the State today then a high pressure ridge will develop over the Bight and move very slowly east during the week. A low pressure trough will develop over Western Australia then move into northwestern parts of the state on Wednesday before moving slowly eastwards. Forecast for the rest of MondayPossible isolated light showers about the coastal areas south of about Adelaide. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 13 DecemberIsolated light showers about the southern agricultural area clearing early afternoon. Patchy rain developing in the far west. Mild in the south grading to warm in the far north with moderate south to southeast winds.Wednesday 14 DecemberPatchy rain over the west of the State. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast, tending northeasterly in the west. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north.Thursday 15 DecemberPatchy rain extending throughout north of about Ceduna then mostly clearing eastern parts in the evening. Mild to warm with moderate southeast to northeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning until midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the southern agricultural area. Patchy rain will result in general falls of 1 to 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 10 mm in the far west.Friday until SundayIsolated showers or patchy rain will extend throughout before clearing from the west on Saturday and the remainder of the state on Sunday.
