Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 10/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge over the Bight will gradually strengthen over the next few days, with a high pressure centre developing south of the Bight later on Tuesday, which will then move slowly eastwards.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers north of about Coober Pedy to Broken Hill, contracting northwards and clearing by late afternoon. Further south, isolated light showers chiefly over the southern agricultural area, contracting southwards to Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast around midday, then clearing by evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Monday 12 DecemberIsolated light showers about the southern coasts extending to all coasts during the morning. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 13 DecemberIsolated light showers about the southern agricultural area clearing early afternoon. Patchy rain developing in the far west. Mild in the south grading to warm in the far north with moderate south to southeast winds.Wednesday 14 DecemberPatchy rain over the west of the State. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast, tending northeasterly in the west. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning until midnight Wednesday are expected to 0 to 2 mm over the southern agricultural area, and over areas north of Coober Pedy to Broken Hill today. Patchy rain in the west will result in falls of 1 to 2 mm extending to areas west of about Streaky Bay to Oodnadatta, increasing to 2 to 10 mm in the far west.Thursday until SaturdayPatchy rain extending throughout but remaining north of about Adelaide then becoming confined to the northeast and west on Saturday with a trough moving into the west of the State. Moderate southeast to northeast winds becoming northeasterly on Friday but turning southerly west of the trough.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
