Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 10/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over eastern parts of the State will clear later today. A high pressure ridge will develop over the Bight in the wake of the trough and remain there into early next week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers about southern coasts and in the far north of the pastoral districts. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about eastern and northern parts of the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts, showers tending scattered east of the ranges. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Sunday 11 DecemberIsolated showers in the far north, clearing during the evening. Isolated light showers about the coasts and southern ranges.Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Monday 12 DecemberIsolated light showers about the southern coasts extending to all coasts during the morning and clearing b during the evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 13 DecemberIsolated showers about southern agricultural area clearing early afternoon. Patchy rain developing in the far west. Moderate southerly winds.Wednesday 14 DecemberPatchy rain over the west of the State. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast, tending northeasterly in the west.Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm on and east of the ranges with 2 to 5 mm elsewhere. Local falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible with thunderstorms.Thursday until SaturdayPatchy rain extending throughout but remaining north of about Adelaide then becoming confined to the northeast and southwest on Saturday with a trough moving into the west of the State. Moderate southeast to northeast winds becoming northeasterly on Friday but turning southerly west of the trough.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
