MELBOURNE - Dec 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over central parts of the State is moving slowly eastwards and will reach the eastern border later today. A high pressure ridge will develop over the Bight in the wake of the trough and remain there into early next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers about southern and western coasts and in the far north of the pastoral districts. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon about eastern and northern parts of the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts, scattered on and east of the ranges. Warm to hot in the east at first with light to moderate northerly winds. A cooler moderate to fresh southwest to southerly change over the remainder, gradually extending throughout.Sunday 11 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral, clearing during the evening. Isolated light showers about southern coasts.Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Monday 12 DecemberIsolated light showers about central and southern coasts clearing during the afternoon. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 13 December Isolated showers about southern coasts clearing by afternoon. Patchy rain developing in the far west. Moderate southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm on and east of the ranges with 2 to 5 mm elsewhere. Local falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible with thunderstorms. Wednesday until FridayPatchy rain over the west of the State, gradually extending east later in the period.
