MELBOURNE - Dec 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over New Zealand extends a ridge along the NSW coast. A trough over SA is moving east. It will move over western parts of the state on Saturday, and through the eastern parts on Sunday and Monday, accompanied by another cool southerly change. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers or rain periods in the west extending eastwards, becoming scattered about the central and northern inland. Isolated thunderstorms about the southwestern and the northern and central inland. The chance of isolated showers elsewhere. East to northeast winds.Saturday 10 DecemberShowers or rain periods over much of the state, but chiefly over the inland areas adjacent to and west of the divide. Thunderstorms possible over the inland and in the far northeast. East to northeast winds near the coast, and northeast to northwest winds inland. A late southwest change in the far west.Sunday 11 DecemberScattered showers or rain periods and thunderstorms in the east, more isolated in the west and clearing from the west later. Northwest to northeast winds turning southwesterly in western and central districts.Monday 12 DecemberFine in the far west. Showers and possible thunderstorms over the remainder, more likely in the east. South to southwest winds extending throughout.Tuesday 13 DecemberShowers in the east, mostly clearing from the southeast during the afternoon.
