Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 8/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure is over inland parts of the State as a weak ridge remains in place over the Bight. The trough will deepen and move eastwards across central and eastern parts of the State on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPatchy rain and possible thunderstorms in the west, extending over central and eastern districts this evening, increasing to areas of rain with isolated thunderstorms over parts of the north and west. Isolated showers with possible thunderstorms about the southeast this afternoon. Warm and mostly cloudy with fresh northeast to northerly winds turning moderate southerly about parts of the coast.Friday 9 DecemberAreas of rain easing to patchy rain from the west during the day and then to isolated showers in the evening. Becoming fine in the north and west later in the day. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds, turning milder moderate to fresh southerly in the west.Saturday 10 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorm about eastern and north parts of the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts. Isolated showers elsewhere. Warm to hot in the east at first with moderate northerly winds. A cooler moderate to fresh southwest to southerly change over the remainder, gradually extending throughout.Sunday 11 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral mostly clearing by midnight. Isolated light showers about southern coasts.Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Monday 12 DecemberIsolated light showers about central and southern coasts clearing, then isolated showers developing in the west later in the period. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday until midnight Monday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm over the agricultural and southern pastoral districts with 5 to 10 mm elsewhere. Local falls of 20 to 30 mm are possible with thunderstorms.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers about southern coasts clearing. Isolated showers redeveloping in the west late in the period. Moderate southerly winds tending southeast to northeast on Wednesday and Thursday. Mild about the coasts and generally warm inland.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
