Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system east of Bass Strait will move slowly eastwards across the Tasman Sea during Thursday reaching New Zealand on Friday. A low pressure trough will extend from South Australia into southwestern Victoria on Thursday, weakening on Friday. Another trough will enter western Victoria on Saturday, moving to central districts at night and into the east of the State on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayEarly morning fog patches in Gippsland. Fine over most of the State but isolated showers in the far northeast this morning then isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing in the afternoon about the eastern ranges and also in the southwest. Warm with light to moderate northeasterly wind and moderate to fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Generally high to very high, except in the east.Friday 9 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the afternoon and evening. A warm, humid and partly cloudy day with a moderate to fresh northeasterly winds and coastal seabreezes.Saturday 10 DecemberScattered showers turning to areas of rain in the west later. Isolated thunderstorms. A mild to warm and humid day with a moderate northerly wind tending southwesterly in the west later.Sunday 11 DecemberRain areas and isolated thunderstorms, easing to isolated showers in the west later. Warm in the north, mild in the south, with winds tending light to moderate southerly from the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDV10310
