Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
Rainfall over northeastern New South Wales is expected to gradually ease today as a broad low pressure trough in the region moves to the Tasman Sea. Meanwhile, a high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is strengthening and will extend a ridge towards the New South Wales coast later today. Further precipitation is forecast for many districts during Friday ahead of another trough approaching from the west. This trough should move over the west of the state on Saturday before continuing across eastern parts during Sunday and Monday, accompanied by another cool change.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayRain areas in the northeast, easing through the day. Possible local thunder about the northern coast and ranges. Isolated showers in central and southeastern districts, chiefly during the afternoon, becoming scattered about the southern ranges with isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Fine and partly cloudy in the west. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 9 DecemberIsolated showers becoming scattered in northeastern and central parts. The chance of thunderstorms across the eastern inland. Southeast to northeast winds near the coast, and north to northeast winds inland.Saturday 10 DecemberIsolated showers tending scattered in northeastern and central parts. The chance of thunderstorms in the east. East to northeast winds near the coast, and northeast to northwest winds inland. A late southwest change in the far west.Sunday 11 DecemberScattered showers tending isolated in the far west before clearing. Northwest to northeast winds turning southwesterly in western and central districts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
