Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure and associated low will develop north and west of Ceduna today. The trough will move eastwards to be near a line near Woomera to Kingscote late Friday evening and then move across the east of the State during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPatchy rain and possible thunderstorms in the west, extending over central and eastern districts during the afternoon and evening, increasing to areas of rain with isolated thunderstorms over western districts. Isolated showers with possible thunderstorms about the southeast this afternoon. Hot and mostly cloudy with fresh northeast to northerly winds turning milder fresh west to southwesterly in the far west.Friday 9 DecemberAreas of rain easing to patchy rain during the day and isolated showers in the evening. Becoming fine in the north and west later in the day. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds, turning milder moderate to fresh southerly in the west.Saturday 10 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorm about eastern and north parts of the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts. Isolated showers elsewhere. Warm to hot in the east at first with moderate northerly winds. A cooler moderate to fresh southwest to southerly change over the remainder, gradually extending throughout.Sunday 11 December
Isolated showers over the far north and far south of the Northwest Pastoral and over the remainder of the State, contracting east and mostly clearing by midnight. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday until midnight Sunday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm increasing to 15 to 25 mm over western districts. Isolated falls of 10 to 20 mm with thunderstorms.
Monday until WednesdayIsolated light showers about central and southern coasts clearing, then isolated showers developing in the west later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
