MELBOURNE - Dec 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales is very slowly east. The trough will move offshore later on Thursday and weaken as a high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the north coast. Another low pressure trough is expected to move over the west of the state on Saturday and then to move slowly east during Sunday and Monday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers in the northeast with rain areas in the far northeastern inland and possible thunderstorms with local moderate to heavy falls. Isolated showers on the central coast and ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 8 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast with rain areas on the far north coast and ranges with possible local moderate to heavy falls. Isolated showers in the southeast. Partly cloudy in the west. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 9 DecemberIsolated showers tending scattered in the northeastern and central parts. The chance of thunderstorms in the eastern inland. North to northeast winds.Saturday 10 DecemberIsolated showers tending sscatteredin the northeastern and central parts.
