Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1019 hPa over the Tasman Sea will strengthen today. A trough of low pressure and associated low will develop north and west of Ceduna during Thursday. The trough will move eastwards to be near a line near Woomera to Kingscote late Friday evening and will then move across the east of the State during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from isolated afternoon and evening showers in the west and possible thunder in the far northwest. Hot with light to moderate northeast winds and fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes, extending across the Nullarbor Plain in the evening.Thursday 8 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the west, with isolated showers extending across central parts during the day and eastern parts in the evening. Hot and mostly cloudy with fresh northeast to northerly winds turning milder fresh west to southwesterly in the far west.Friday 9 DecemberIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms, tending to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the north of the agricultural area and the Pastoral districts southeast of Coober Pedy. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds, turning milder moderate to fresh southerly in the west.Saturday 10 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorm about eastern and north parts of the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts. Isolated showers elsewhere. Warm to hot in the east at first with moderate northerly winds. A cooler moderate to fresh southwest to southerly change over the remainder, gradually extending throughout.Sunday 11 December
Isolated showers over the far north and far south of the Northwest Pastoral and over the remainder of the State, contracting east and mostly clearing by midnight. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southerly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm with local falls of 10 to 20 mm with thunderstorms, reaching 20 to 30 mm in the south of the Northwest Pastoral.
Monday until WednesdayIsolated light showers about central and southern coasts clearing, then isolated showers developing in the west later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
