MELBOURNE - Dec 6/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system just east of Tasmania will move slowly eastwards across the southern Tasman Sea during today and Thursday. A low pressure trough will develop over South Australia on Thursday, then drift eastwards on Friday before entering western Victoria during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from morning fog patches in Gippsland and isolated showers about the eastern ranges in the afternoon and evening. A generally warm and mainly sunny day with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Moderate to High.Thursday 8 DecemberFine apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northeast ranges during the afternoon. Warm with light to moderate northeasterly winds and moderate to fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 9 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the afternoon and evening. A warm, humid and partly cloudy day with a moderate to fresh northerly wind.Saturday 10 DecemberScattered showers turning to areas of rain in the west. Scattered thunderstorms.
