MELBOURNE - Dec 6/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system east of Tasmania will move slowly east and intensify over the next few days to be near New Zealand Thursday with a weak ridge back to southern NSW. An upper level trough will cross northern NSW during this period producing rain over this area with possible localised moderate to heavy falls. Unsettled conditions are expected for Friday and the weekend with humid, warm north to northeast winds ahead of a trough slowly crossing the state. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayRain areas in the central north and northeast, with possible moderate to heavy falls and isolated thunderstorms near the Queensland border. Isolated showers about central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine in the southwest half. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 8 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast quarter, tending to rain areas on the north coast and ranges. Possible localised moderate to heavy falls for the far north coast. Isolated showers in the southeast. Fine in the west. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 9 DecemberScattered showers through central districts with isolated thunderstorms. Isolated showers in eastern districts, increasing, and isolated showers developing the far west. North to northeast winds.Saturday 10 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the east. Isolated showers in the west, increasing in the southwest later with possible thunder.
