MELBOURNE - Dec 6/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over Tasmania will move slowly eastwards during tonight and Wednesday. The high will move across the southern Tasman Sea on Thursday as a low pressure trough develops over South Australia. The low pressure trough will drift eastwards on Friday before entering western Victoria during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine. Light to moderate easterly winds becoming fresh to strong near the coast.Wednesday 7 DecemberFine after morning fog patches in Gippsland. A generally warm and mainly sunny day with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Moderate to High.Thursday 8 DecemberFine apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northeast ranges during the afternoon. Warm with light to moderate northeasterly winds and moderate to fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 9 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the afternoon and evening. A warm, humid and partly cloudy day with a moderate to fresh northerly wind.Saturday 10 DecemberScattered showers turning to areas of rain in the west. Scattered thunderstorms.
