MELBOURNE - Dec 5/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system to the southwest of Tasmania will weaken as it moves across Tasmania during Tuesday and will be located to the east of Tasmania on Wednesday. The high will move across the southern Tasman Sea on Thursday as a low pressure trough develops over South Australia. The low pressure trough will approach western Victoria later on Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated showers in East Gippsland. Moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong at times near the coast.Tuesday 6 DecemberFine. Mild to warm and mostly sunny. Light to moderate easterly winds becoming fresh to strong near the coast.Fire Danger - Low to moderate in the south. Moderate to high in the north.Wednesday 7 DecemberFine. A generally warm and mainly sunny day with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 8 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms possible about the northeast ranges during the afternoon. Fine over the remainder except for isolated showers possible in the far west at night. Warm day with cloud increasing in the west. Light northeasterly winds and moderate to fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 9 DecemberRain areas extending from the northwest.
