MELBOURNE - Dec 4/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high centred well south of Mt Gambier will move slowly east over the next few days and is expected to centred over the Tasman Sea by mid-week. A trough of low pressure is expected to move over South Australia later in the week. Forecast for the rest of MondayCloudy in the north with isolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the far northeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Warm with moderate east to southeast winds, fresh about the coasts with afternoon sea breezes.Tuesday 6 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms clearing from the northeast in the evening. Warm to hot with southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 7 DecemberIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing in the west. Generally hot with freshening northerly winds.Thursday 8 December Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms extending throughout apart from the far northeast. Hot with freshening northerly winds turning milder southwesterly from the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday until midnight Thursday will be up to 5 mm with possible falls of 5 to 15 mm from thunderstorms. Friday until SundayThe trough will move into the eastern states early in the period resulting in isolated showers and possible thunderstorms clearing to the east.
