MELBOURNE - Dec 4/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system well south of the Bight is moving slowly east. A cold front is moving up the New South Wales coast. The high will be just west of Tasmania by late Monday before weakening as it moves across Tasmania during Tuesday. The high will then move to the central Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low pressure trough will develop over South Australia on Thursday as the high moves closer towards New Zealand. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over Gippsland. Light to moderate south to southeasterly wind.Monday 5 DecemberFine apart from isolated showers in East Gippsland, clearing later in the day. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger - High in the west, low to moderate in the remainder.Tuesday 6 DecemberFine. Mild to warm and mostly sunny. Light to moderate easterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Wednesday 7 DecemberFine apart from the chance of an afternoon shower about the northeast ranges. Generally warm and mainly sunny day with light to moderate easterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 8 DecemberIsolated showers about the northeast ranges. Fine over the remainder. Warm day with cloud increasing in the west.
