MELBOURNE - Dec 3/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front is crossing the southwestern Tasman Sea and a strong high pressure system is moving south of the Bight. During Sunday the high will move very slowly east gradually extending a ridge to New South Wales north coast. A low pressure trough is expected to develop over the west of the state Thursday night and then to deepen during Friday and Saturday as the high moves towards New Zealand. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of showers or thunderstorms in the far southeast. Mostly clear elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds turning south to southwesterly in the west and southeast.Sunday 4 DecemberIsolated showers on the coast and on the adjacent ranges. The chance of thunderstorms in the eastern parts of central ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, fresh along the southern half of the coast.Monday 5 DecemberIsolated showers near the coast. Showers developing over the northern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds near the coast, tending easterly inland.Tuesday 6 DecemberIsolated showers in the north and on the south and central coasts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 7 DecemberIsolated showers in the north and on the south and central coasts. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
