MELBOURNE - Nov 27/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough will remain slow moving over South Australia through Sunday and Monday. A more significant trough and cold front will move across the state on Tuesday, ahead of a large high pressure system developing to the south of Western Australia. This high will then move slowly east to be centred to the south of the Bight later Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated thundery showers near southern and western coasts. Warm about southern coasts and hot elsewhere. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, tending light to moderate southeast to northeast near southern coasts.Tuesday 29 NovemberIsolated thundery showers extending to most areas except the Northeast Pastoral district. Hot with freshening northerly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh to strong southwesterly change in the west gradually extending eastwards to reach the Northeast Pastoral late evening.Wednesday 30 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms over most of the northern agricultural area, Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts, contracting northeast and clearing by evening. Isolated showers over the remainder southeast of about Ceduna, contracting southwards to southern coasts and ranges by evening. Warm to hot in the far northeast with northerly winds shifting fresh southwesterly during the morning. Mostly cool over the rest of the State with fresh southwest to south winds, strong at times near the coast.Thursday 1 DecemberIsolated showers about coasts except for western coasts, contracting to southern coasts in the afternoon. Cool to mild with moderate southwest to southeast winds, with fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from early Monday until midnight Thursday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm, with isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area.Friday until SundayIsolated showers near southern coasts on Friday, clearing by midday, then fine throughout for Friday and Saturday. Fine on Sunday apart from the chance of isolated showers in the far west and far northeast.
