Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 27/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak low pressure trough will move through Bass Strait tonight and a high pressure system will form over the Tasman Sea on Monday. The next cold front and associated low pressure trough will enter western Victoria Tuesday afternoon and will clear eastern Victoria by early Wednesday afternoon introducing a colder southwest to southerly airstream. On Thursday a strong high pressure system will develop south of the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers possible over the southwest, otherwise fine. Generally light to moderate westerly winds, fresh near the Gippsland coast at first.Monday 28 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms over southern and mountain districts. Morning fog patches. Warm inland with light to moderate northwesterly winds but milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Moderate to High.Tuesday 29 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the east and also developing from the west during the afternoon and tending to rain in the far southwest at night. Warm to hot with freshening northerly wind shifting cooler west to southwesterly in the west later.Wednesday 30 NovemberA band of rain crossing the State. Scattered showers and local hail to follow, mainly affecting southern and mountain districts. Isolated thunderstorms. Colder southwest to southerly winds extending throughout and snowfalls developing over Alpine areas at night.Thursday 1 DecemberScattered showers in southern and mountain areas becoming isolated and contracting to the southeast later. Local hail and thunder in the south clearing during the afternoon. Cool with moderate to fresh southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
