Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 26/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system centred just east of Tasmania will move quickly away to the southeast during Sunday. A weak low pressure trough will move through Bass Strait Sunday night then a high pressure system will form over the Tasman Sea on Monday. The next front and associated low pressure trough will enter western Victoria Tuesday afternoon and will clear eastern Victoria by early Wednesday afternoon introducing a colder southwest to southerly airstream.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPatchy rain in the east, easing to showers or drizzle this morning then clearing this afternoon. Isolated showers redeveloping over the southwest late afternoon and evening. A mild day in the south, warm in the north with generally light to moderate westerly winds, fresh to strong near the central and Gippsland coast at first.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Monday 28 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms over southern and mountain districts. Warm inland with light to moderate northwesterly winds but milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Tuesday 29 NovemberIsolated showers showers and thunderstorms in the east and also developing from the west during the afternoon and tending to rain in the far southwest at night. Warm to hot with freshening northerly wind shifting cooler west to southwesterly in the west later.Wednesday 30 NovemberA band of rain crossing the State. Scattered showers and local hail to follow, mainly affecting southern and mountain districts. Isolated thunderstorms. Colder southwest to southerly winds extending throughout and snowfalls developing over Alpine areas at night.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
