Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 26/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure over the west is weakening, ahead of a broad low pressure trough which will move slowly eastwards over the next few days. A more significant trough and cold front to the south will extend from the west on Tuesday, ahead of a large high pressure system to follow to the south of Western Australia.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over eastern districts, contracting southwards and clearing late evening. Isolated thunderstorms near the eastern border clearing by evening. Mild with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, turning southeasterly in the west.Sunday 27 NovemberEarly fog patches south of Ceduna to Broken Hill. Isolated early showers in the Lower South East. Cloud increasing in the west and south, with isolated showers and the chance of a thunderstorm developing near southern and western coasts from late afternoon. Becoming warmer with light winds turning northerly, shifting south to southwesterly from the west from around midday, fresh at times in the west.Monday 28 NovemberFine apart from isolated thundery showers near southern and western coasts. Hot inland with light to moderate northerly winds, mild to warm about coastal parts with moderate northeast to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 29 NovemberIsolated thundery showers extending to most areas except the Northeast Pastoral district. Hot with freshening northerly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh southwesterly change in the west gradually extending eastwards to reach the Northeast Pastoral late evening.Wednesday 30 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms over most of the northern agricultural area, Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts, contracting northeast and clearing by evening. Isolated showers over the remainder southeast of about Ceduna, contracting southwards to southern coasts and ranges by evening. Warm to hot in the far northeast with northerly winds shifting fresh southwesterly during the day. Mostly cool over the rest of the State with fresh southwest to south winds, strong at times near the coast. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm, with isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area.Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers about coasts except for western coasts, contracting to southern coasts during Thursday, then persisting through to Saturday. Continuing cool to mild with moderate southwest to southeast winds, with fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
