MELBOURNE - Nov 25/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system over Victoria will drift over Bass Strait this morning and will deepen in the afternoon. The low will then move quickly across the southern Tasman Sea on Sunday and a low pressure trough will move through Bass Strait on Monday. A cold front will enter western Victoria later on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayRain areas over eastern and central districts during the morning with locally heavy falls in the east. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere, increasing to rain again in the south during the afternoon and evening. Mild with moderate northeast to southeasterly winds tending northwest to southwesterly by the afternoon, locally strong near the coast.Fire Danger - Moderate to HighSunday 27 NovemberAreas of rain in the southeast tending to scattered showers. Isolated showers over the northeast clearing. Isolated showers in remaining southern areas mostly clearing during the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms over the far east. A mild day in the south, warm in the north with moderate southwesterly winds freshening near the central and eastern coasts.Monday 28 NovemberIsolated showers over the south. Isolated thunderstorms possible near the northeastern ranges in the afternoon. Warm inland with light to moderate northwesterly winds but milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Tuesday 29 NovemberIsolated showers becoming scattered in the southwest later. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the northeast and southwest.
