Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 25/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low is centred over Victoria, with an associated trough extending north through inland New South Wales and Queensland. This system is moving gradually east, and by late this evening the low is expected to be east of Bass Strait with the trough just clear of the far northeast of the state. The trough should continue to move away across the Tasman Sea during Sunday as a weak high pressure system approaches from the west. This high is forecast to reach the Tasman Sea on Monday, with another trough developing over the Bight likely to affect New South Wales during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayRain and possible thunder over most of the east in the morning, gradually contracting to the far northeast through the day. Isolated showers remaining across the southern inland, with isolated thunderstorms. North to northeast winds along the coast. West to northwest extending across the remainder.Sunday 27 NovemberFine apart from isolated showers in the southeast and far northeast, clearing. Southwest to northwest winds, becoming north to northeasterly about the northern coast.Monday 28 NovemberThe chance of showers in the southeast and northeast corners. Possible thunderstorms in the far southeast. Fine elsewhere. Mainly light northeast to northwesterly winds, increasing along the coast later.Tuesday 29 NovemberIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the southeast and northeast. Fine elsewhere. Light and variable winds tending southeast to northeasterly along the coast. Northeast to northwest winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.Product IDN10031
