MELBOURNE - Nov 25/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the State will move eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea tonight. A low in the southeast will continue to deepen as it moves southeastwards to be located over eastern Bass Strait Saturday evening. A ridge of high pressure will move over South Australia ahead of a trough of low pressure extending from the west next week. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over central and eastern districts with isolated showers gradually clearing from Eyre Peninsula and southern parts of the Northwest Pastoral. Mild with light to moderate southeast to southwest winds.Saturday 26 NovemberScattered showers and possible thunderstorms about the eastern border clearing late evening. Isolated showers elsewhere south and east of Eyre Peninsula contracting eastwards and clearing during the day. Mild to warm with moderate south to southwesterly winds.Sunday 27 NovemberCloud increasing with isolated thundery showers developing about coastal areas late in the day. Becoming warmer with light winds turning northerly ahead of a moderate to fresh south to southwesterly change.Monday 28 November Fine apart from isolated thundery showers about coastal areas. Hot inland with light to moderate northerly winds, mild to warm about coastal parts with moderate south to southeasterly winds. Tuesday 29 November Isolated thundery showers extending to most areas except the Northeast Pastoral district. Hot inland with light northerly winds, milder about coastal districts with moderate southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday until midnight Tuesday are expected to be quite variable. Generally falls of up to 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 15 mm on and east of the ranges, mostly occurring today and on Saturday. Wednesday until FridayOn Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, thundery showers will move to the east and clear early in the period. Isolated showers may persist about southern coasts associated with weak fronts passing to the south later next week.
