MELBOURNE - Nov 24/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the State will move eastwards to the Tasman Sea on Friday. An upper low near the Flinders district today will move slowly south-southeastwards on Friday, becoming a surface low pressure system over Victoria on Saturday. A low pressure trough will move over the State on the weekend ahead of a new high pressure system next week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms about the Flinders, Mid North, southern pastorals, northern Eyre Peninsula, and areas on and east of the ranges. Showers increasing to scattered north and east of about Clare to Lameroo. Mild to warm with moderate south to southeasterly winds, possibly fresh and gusty about the Fleurieu Peninsula this evening. Fresh to strong winds about parts of the coast about the coasts early evening.Friday 25 NovemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms on and east of the ranges. Isolated showers over remaining central districts, possibly extending as far west as Eyre Peninsula. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to southwest winds.Saturday 26 NovemberScattered showers about the eastern border easing to isolated showers during the day and clearing late evening. Isolated showers elsewhere east of Eyre Peninsula contracting eastwards and clearing during the day. Mild to warm with moderate south to southwesterly winds.Sunday 27 NovemberCloud increasing with isolated showers developing about coastal areas late in the day. Becoming warmer with light winds turning northerly ahead of a fresh and gusty south to southwesterly change.Monday 28 November Fine apart from isolated showers about coastal areas. Hot inland with light to moderate northerly winds, mild to warm about coastal parts with moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday until midnight Monday are expected to be up to 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 15 mm on and east of the ranges. Isolated falls of 15 to 30 mm are possible with thunderstorms. Tuesday until ThursdayOn Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, isolated showers are forecast mostly about the southern agricultural area and west coast associated with weak fronts moving to the south of the State.
