MELBOURNE - Nov 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high is centred to the northeast of New Zealand, and another south of the Bight. A broad trough between these systems will remain over central and northern New South Wales for the next few days, with rainfall becoming enhanced as an upper-level feature approaches. The high south of the Bight is forecast to strengthen and move slowly east during Thursday, bringing a cooler air mass across New South Wales. The main inland trough is expected to start moving east on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine on the southern ranges. Rain areas in the northeast, with heavy falls possible in the far north. Isolated showers over the remainder, tending scattered over the central and southwestern parts. Possible thunderstorms over inland north. South to southeast winds, becoming fresh and gusty in many areas.Friday 25 NovemberShowers or rain periods across most districts, tending widespread over inland northeast with possible heavy falls. Possible thunderstorms across most of the state apart from northwest and southeast. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 26 NovemberIsolated showers in the east and south, more likely in the east. Possible thunderstorms in the southeast. Northeast to northwest winds, tending southwesterly in the west.Sunday 27 NovemberIsolated showers in the southeast and far northeast.
