Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 21/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extends from the Bight to northern Victoria. A cold front crossing the Southern Ocean will reach the southwest early Tuesday morning and move across southern Victoria during Tuesday. A high pressure system located south of the Bight will direct a southerly flow across the state on Wednesday. The high will move slowly eastwards on Thursday and will reach the Tasman sea on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated showers developing about far east Gippsland later this evening. Generally light to moderate west to northwesterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Tuesday 22 NovemberScattered showers developing over the southwest during the morning and extending eastwards over southern and mountain districts during the day. Only isolated showers extending north of the divide, mainly near the ranges and in the northwest. Cool in the south, mild in the north with moderate west to southwesterly winds gradually extending throughout and freshening about the coast.Fire Danger -  High in the northwest.Wednesday 23 NovemberScattered showers near and south of the ranges, more isolated over the southwest. Showers falling as snow about the Alpine peaks during the evening. Cool in the south and mild in the north with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Thursday 24 NovemberFine apart from isolated showers over East Gippsland. Showers falling as snow about the Alpine peaks during the morning. Cool to mild and partly cloudy in the south, mild to warm and mostly sunny in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Friday 25 NovemberFine apart from possible isolated showers in the north during the afternoon and evening. Mild and mainly sunny in the south, warm and partly cloudy in the north. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds with moderate to fresh coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
