Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high is in the Tasman Sea and another to the west of WA. A trough with an embedded front between these highs is moving through the central parts of the state. It will remain over the northeast into the new week. The trough is expected to deepen off the north coast Wednesday and Thursday, as another front and an upper trough and cold pool move over New South Wales and as the high moves eastwards through the Bight with a ridge through Bass Strait.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine in the northeast and the southwest. Showers and possible thunderstorms over the remainder. Southeast to northeasterly winds extending across the remainder.Monday 21 NovemberFine near the Victorian border. Showers or rain periods developing over the remainder, initially in the north, gradually extending southwards during the day. Thunderstorms possible in the northeast and along the northern inland border. Southeast winds most parts, tending northeast to northwest over the northeastern inland.Tuesday 22 NovemberShowers or rain periods in all but the far northeast and the southwest. Thunderstorms possible across parts of the northeast. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast. Mostly southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Wednesday 23 NovemberFine over most of the west. Showers across the eastern half with rain and possible thunderstorms in the northeast. Chance late snow on the alpine peaks. North to northwest winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds over the remainder, freshening in the west.Thursday 24 NovemberFine in the far west. Showers over the remainder, tending scattered over central and eastern parts and grading to rain in the northeast. Possible early snow on the alpine peaks.
