the state while a weak ridge will continue onto the east tropical coast.
Isolated showers will continue along parts of the east tropical coast while
isolated showers and storms will continue over Cape York Peninsula. Showers and

while an upper level trough will move into central Australia. This upper trough
will generate a cloud and rain band with storms and this band will move into the
far west of the state late in the day. Isolated showers will continue along the
east tropical coast while showers and storms will occur over Cape York Peninsula
and about the southern Gulf of Carpentaria. Fine elsewhere.
Forecast for Tuesday
The upper trough will move eastwards a little while the surface trough will
move into central areas of the state. The cloud and rain with storms and some
moderate to heavy falls will move across the west of the state. Isolated showers
will occur along parts of the east tropical coast and along the southern coast
north of about Fraser Island. Isolated showers and storms will occur over the
remainder of the northern tropics. Fine elsewhere.

will extend from the north-west to the south-east by late in the day. Isolated
showers and storms will continue over the northern tropics while isolated

Outlook for Thursday, Friday and Saturday
The cloud and rain band will slowly weaken over eastern districts of the
state during Thursday and Friday as a low pressure system develops off the New
South Wales coast. Over the west of the state conditions will remain fine in the
wake of the passage of the cloud band. Showers and storms will continue over the
far northern tropics during this period.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST
