Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will clear eastern Victoria early Sunday. Another cold front will move rapidly through Bass Strait on Sunday then a ridge of high pressure will extend from the Bight to northern Victoria Sunday night. The next cold front will approach western Victoria late on Monday and move across southern Victoria on Tuesday. A high pressure system located south of the Bight on Wednesday will direct a southerly flow across the state.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayRain and isolated thunderstorms clearing in the southwest. Locally heavy falls possible in the northeast. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds extending to the east tonight.Sunday 20 NovemberAreas of rain and possible thunderstorms over the north and east, contracting to the far east during the morning then clearing during the afternoon. Isolated showers in the south. A generally mild day with west to southwesterly winds freshening in the afternoon.Monday 21 NovemberMainly fine and cool to mild. Isolated showers possible about the southwest coast. Generally light to moderate west to northwesterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Tuesday 22 NovemberScattered showers developing, mainly in southern and mountain districts. Cool in the south, mild in the north with moderate southwest to southerly winds gradually extending throughout.Wednesday 23 NovemberScattered showers near and south of the ranges tending more isolated over the southwest. Showers falling as snow about the Alps in the afternoon. Cool in the south and mild in the north with moderate to locally fresh southwest to southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
