Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough over the North East Pastoral district will continue moving slowly across the northeast today, reaching the far northeast corner of the state during Sunday. A high pressure ridge extends over the Bight and will remain there over the next few days with a high pressure system moving from the west across waters south of the state during Tuesday and Wednesday. Weak fronts will move over southern coasts on Sunday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPatchy rain and isolated thunderstorms in the west and over areas north of about Wudinna to Adelaide to Keith apart from the far northeast. Hot to very hot in the northeast, but milder elsewhere. Moderate to fresh southerly winds throughout the state except the far northeast.Sunday 20 NovemberPatchy rain and isolated thunderstorms over the Pastorals north of about Woomera to Yunta, and the far northern Flinders. Isolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East contracting south and clearing during the afternoon. Generally milder conditions throughout with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Monday 21 NovemberPatchy rain and possible thunderstorms over the Pastoral districts north of about Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek. Fine over the remainder. Generally mild with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 22 NovemberPatchy rain and isolated thunderstorms in the Northeast Pastoral, contracting eastwards to the far northeast in the evening. Isolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts by evening. Generally mild with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds.Wednesday 23 NovemberFine apart from isolated morning showers near southern coasts. Generally mild with mainly moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 3 mm over the agricultural area and west coast, and 3 to 10 mm further north, with isolated falls of 10 to 25 mm with rain and thunderstorms, chiefly in the north.Thursday until SaturdaySunny. The chance of isolated showers over the Lower South East late Saturday. Becoming warmer with mainly light to moderate southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
