Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 17/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough over the northeast will weaken a little today as a high pressure system over the Tasman Sea gradually extends a ridge over NSW. Further thunderstorm activity is expected with the trough though most of the remainder of the state should be fine. The next frontal system will slowly cross southern and central parts of the state over the weekend before stalling in the north on Monday. Further showers and thunderstorms are expected with this system.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast tending scattered on the northern ranges. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the far southeast during the afternoon. Chance of a little early drizzle about central parts of the coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Early fog patches, particularly on the central and southern ranges. Very warm day in the far west. North to northeast winds, freshening along the south coast.Saturday 19 NovemberIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the south. The chance of showers or thunderstorms on the western slopes of the northern ranges. Partly cloudy remainder. Northeast to northwest winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change in the west and southeast.Sunday 20 NovemberPartly cloudy in the northeast. Clearing showers in the south. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere tending scattered near the coast. Southeast to northeast winds.Monday 21 NovemberPartly cloudy on the far north coast and in the far southwest. Showers elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.Product IDN10031
