Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 17/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over the far west of the State will gradually extend across the south and west during Friday, then across the northeast during Saturday. A high pressure ridge will then become established over the Bight in the wake of the front, and remain there through to early next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the far west and near southern and western coasts during the morning, extending over the agricultural area, West Coast district and west of the Northwest Pastoral after midday. Areas of rain developing near southern coasts during the evening. Hot to very hot with fresh and gusty northeast to northwest winds ahead of a milder southerly change in the far west, extending eastwards to reach southern parts of the pastoral districts late evening.Saturday 19 NovemberAreas of rain and possible thunderstorms extending from the south, reaching the south of the Pastoral districts by late afternoon. Rain clearing southern coasts by midday, and the agricultural area late evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the north ahead of the rain. Hot to very hot in the northeast, but milder elsewhere. Fresh southerly winds extending throughout all but the far northeast.Sunday 20 NovemberPatchy rain and possible thunderstorms over the Pastoral and Flinders districts north of about Woomera to Yunta. Isolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East until evening. Generally milder conditions throughout with moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Monday 21 NovemberPatchy rain and possible thunderstorms over the Pastoral and Flinders districts north of about Woomera to Yunta gradually contracting eastwards to the Northeast Pastoral by late evening. Generally mild with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm generally, with isolated falls of 10 to 25 mm with rain and thunderstorms.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorm in the far northeast clearing early Tuesday. Isolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area on Tuesday, contracting to southern coasts on Wednesday then clearing by afternoon. Fine on Thursday. Continuing generally mild with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds turning southeast to northeast on Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
