MELBOURNE - Nov 17/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales is moving slowly further northeast and weakening as a high pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the north coast. Another trough will move over the west of the state on Sunday and it is expected to contract to the northeast during Monday and Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPartly cloudy in the southwest and on the far north coast. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers over the remainder. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 18 NovemberIsolated showers in the northeast tending scattered on the western slopes of the northern ranges. Isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast. Partly cloudy remainder. North to northeast winds.Saturday 19 NovemberIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the south. The chance of showers or thunderstorms on the western slopes of the northern ranges. Partly cloudy remainder. Northeast to northwest winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change in the west and southeast.Sunday 20 NovemberPartly cloudy in the northeast. Clearing showers in the south. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere tending scattered near the coast. Southeast to northeast winds.Monday 21 NovemberPartly cloudy on the far north coast and in the far southwest.
