Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 16/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough lies over northeast NSW as a cold front lies over the southern Tasman Sea and New Zealand. Behind the front a high pressure system will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea on Thursday gradually extending a ridge to the north coast and the trough will move further northeast and weaken during Friday. The next trough/front system is expected to cross state during Saturday and Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine in the southwest and on the far north coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the remainder tending scattered about much of the northeast quarter. Morning fog patches about the ranges. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 18 NovemberIsolated showers in the northeast tending scattered on the western slopes of the northern ranges. Isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast. Partly cloudy remainder. North to northeast winds.Saturday 19 NovemberIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the south. Isolated showers in the northeast. Partly cloudy remainder. Northeast to northwest winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change in the west and southeast.Sunday 20 NovemberPartly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered near Victorian border.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
