Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 15/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight will rapidly cross Victoria today and will be centred over the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A cold front and associated trough will reach western Victoria late Friday and will cross the remainder of the State during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayLocal early fog in the south. Rain and isolated thunderstorms over the north and east contracting to the far eastern ranges by early afternoon then later clearing with mainly sunny skies to follow. Mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger -  High in the Mallee. Low to moderate elsewhere.Thursday 17 NovemberFine apart from isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the northeast ranges. Generally warm to hot inland with light winds tending northerly, but milder along the coastal fringe with local afternoon seabreezes.Friday 18 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms developing over most districts. Showers tending scattered over the southwest during the afternoon and evening. Generally warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting cooler southwesterly over western districts late in the day.Saturday 19 NovemberA band of rain and isolated thunderstorms extending northeastwards across the State then clearing from the southwest during the afternoon with only isolated showers to follow. Southwest to southerly winds gradually extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
