Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the New South Wales north coast, while a broad trough of low pressure approaches the state's west. Between these two systems, a warm and humid air mass is moving over the region, leading to a continuation of unsettled conditions in many districts today. The trough will reach western New South Wales this evening as it links with a cold front passing to the south. During Thursday the system is expected to weaken as it moves to the northeast, with an influx of cooler air bringing a return to dry conditions over most of the inland. A trough is expected to linger over the northern inland on Friday. By Saturday a new high is forecast to be above the Tasman Sea, and showers will mostly be restricted to areas east of the Divide.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine and partly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, tending scattered in the west and southeast, chiefly during the afternoon. Showers becoming more widespread about the southern Riverina and Southwest Slopes areas, with possible heavy falls.
