Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weakening trough will move through Victoria and Bass Strait on Tuesday. A strengthening cold front will reach western Victoria on Wednesday morning then push into eastern areas Wednesday night, finally clearing from the east on Thursday morning and an associated deep low pressure system will pass south of Tasmania. A ridge of high pressure will extend across the Victoria late on Thursday with a small high centre crossing to the Tasman Sea on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy rain in western and central areas extending to the east later this morning then scattered showers to follow in most areas during the afternoon. Local thunderstorms. Generally warm and humid with variable winds tending moderate to locally fresh northwesterly in the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Wednesday 9 NovemberRain areas and local thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon and evening with heavy falls developing over the northeast and along the ranges. Humid and warm with moderate to locally fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwesterly over western and central parts during the afternoon and evening.Thursday 10 NovemberRain in the east clearing during the morning. Isolated showers over the southwest, clearing late in the day. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh westerly winds.Friday 11 NovemberIsolated showers clearing from the far east. Mild in the south, warmer in the north. Light to moderate northwesterly winds and coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
