Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system moved across southern Victoria today. A weakening trough will move through Bass Strait on Tuesday, while a stronger cold front will cross Victoria on Wednesday as a deep low pressure system moves through the Southern Ocean. A ridge of high pressure will extend across the State late on Thursday and another weakening front will enter western Bass Strait late on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the far east. Patchy rain entering the southwest in the evening. Fine over the northwest. Light and variable winds.Tuesday 8 NovemberA band of rain contracting eastwards, with isolated showers to follow in the south. Possible thunderstorms. A mild to warm day with generally light winds.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Wednesday 9 NovemberRain areas and local thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon with some heavy falls developing over the northeast and along the ranges. Moderate to locally fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwesterly during the afternoon and evening.Thursday 10 NovemberRain in the east clearing during the morning. Isolated showers over the southwest, clearing late in the day. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh westerly winds.Friday 11 NovemberIsolated showers clearing from the far east. Mild in the south, warmer in the north. Light to moderate northwesterly winds and coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
