Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 6/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front and associated low pressure trough is crossing Victoria but will stall over the northeast tonight. The trough will linger over the northeast during Monday as a weak high pressure system moves across southern Victoria. A stronger cold front will cross Victoria on Wednesday then a ridge of high pressure will extend across the State late Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms contracting eastwards this evening. Cooler west to southwesterly winds extending to most areas.Monday 7 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the east. Local fog and drizzle over remaining southern districts clearing during the morning, then patchy rain entering the southwest at night. Warm inland with light northwesterly winds. Milder near the coast with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger -  Low to ModerateTuesday 8 NovemberA band of rain contracting eastwards, with isolated showers to follow in the south. Possible thunderstorms. A mild to warm day with generally light winds.Wednesday 9 NovemberRain areas and local thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon with some heavy falls developing over the northeast and along the ranges. Moderate to locally fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwesterly during the afternoon and evening.Thursday 10 November
Rain in the east clearing during the morning. Isolated showers over the southwest, but fine elsewhere.
Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh westerly winds.
