Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 4/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over western Bass Strait extends a ridge across the state to the Tasman Sea. The high will be located over the Tasman Sea by Saturday morning. A cold front will approach western Victoria late on Saturday and enter the southwest on Sunday morning. The front will move across central Victoria during Sunday afternoon, reaching the east at night. A weak high pressure system will move across southern Victoria on Monday followed by a weakening trough of low pressure over western Victoria on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayClear with light winds and coastal seabreezes.Saturday 5 NovemberEarly fog patches in Gippsland then a warm to hot and mainly sunny day. Moderate northerly winds and local afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Fire Danger -  Moderate to High.Sunday 6 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms developing over the southwest during the morning and extending throughout in the afternoon. Showers tending more widespread near and south of the ranges in the afternoon. Warm to hot with a freshening north to northwesterly wind, shifting cooler, gusty west to southwesterly from the west.Monday 7 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms contracting to the east in the afternoon. Showers more widespread about the eastern ranges. Warm in the north, mild in the south with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 8 November
Isolated showers extending from the west and tending scattered in the afternoon with isolated thunderstorms developing. A warm day with light to moderate northwest to northeasterly winds and afternoon seabreezes about the central and eastern coasts.
