Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 4/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is over the Tasman Sea. A trough will develop near the western border this evening, then move eastwards across South Australia during Saturday and early Sunday. A weak high will form over the Bight later Sunday. Another trough will cross the far west Monday evening, extending across the State to reach the far northeast Tuesday evening.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms west of Ernabella to Nullarbor, with possible showers in the far northeast. Fine elsewhere with some high cloud. A warm evening with light to moderate northeast winds, tending fresh northerly in the west and shifting moderate westerly near the western border.Saturday 5 NovemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the far west, extending across western districts during the day and reaching Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo in the evening. Showers increasing to scattered in the far west. Isolated showers and possible thunder also in the far northeast. Hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a west to southwest change extending across the west, reaching central districts late evening.Sunday 6 NovemberPossible showers and thunderstorms east of about Ceduna to Coober Pedy, more likely over eastern districts. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate northerly winds in the northeast, shifting southwest to southerly throughout in the afternoon.Monday 7 NovemberIsolated showers about western agricultural districts and Kangaroo Island, possibly extending to central and eastern districts late evening. Fine elsewhere. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, tending fresh northwesterly in the west ahead of a southwest change in the evening.Tuesday 8 November
Isolated showers and thunderstorms extending throughout, with showers increasing to scattered over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Fresh northwest winds across the northeast, shifting moderate southwesterly elsewhere.
Cumulative rainfall totals for the period Friday until midnight Monday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm across the agricultural area and west of about Ernabella to Ceduna, possibly reaching 15 to 20 mm in the far west. 1 to 3 mm is expected elsewhere across the pastoral districts.
Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms will contract to eastern districts and clear early Thursday morning. Isolated showers are possible about the South East coast on Thursday and Friday. Hot with light winds in the northeast, mild to warm with moderate northwest to southwest winds elsewhere.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
