Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure is moving east across the Tasman Sea and there is a slow moving high pressure system south of the Bight. The high will extend a ridge across Victoria from Monday to Wednesday. A cold front will clip Tasmania today then another cold front will cross Bass Strait late on Tuesday. The high will then approach western Victoria late on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated light showers south of the ranges, contracting to the coast during the morning and mostly clearing in the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny over the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Tuesday 1 NovemberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges. Fine over the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 2 NovemberIsolated showers south of the ranges extending to the northern slopes during the day. Fine over the northwest. Cool to mild with moderate southwesterly winds.Thursday 3 NovemberIsolated showers near the southwest and central coasts. Fine and mainly sunny over the remainder. Cool in the south, mild in the north with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
