Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 29/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough moved through eastern districts today, but will linger over the eastern ranges until the evening. A low pressure system following the trough will be located over central Bass Strait by late today. The low is forecast to weaken early Sunday. A slow moving high pressure system will move to south of the Bight on Sunday as the trough moves eastwards across the Tasman Sea. The high will extend a ridge across Victoria from Monday to Wednesday. A cold front will cross Bass Strait late on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers on and south of the ranges. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the east. Cool, fresh south to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Sunday 30 OctoberScattered showers on and south of the ranges, tending more isolated over the southwest. Fine and mostly sunny over the northwest. Cooler with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Monday 31 OctoberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges, mainly morning. Fine over the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 1 NovemberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges. Fine over the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 2 NovemberIsolated showers extending inland during the day, possibly reaching the northern slopes. Fine over the northwest. Cool to mild with moderate southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
