Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 28/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough is currently moving through western Victoria and will move slowly eastward, clearing eastern Victoria Saturday afternoon. A slow moving high pressure system will form over the Bight during Sunday as the trough moves eastwards across the Tasman Sea. The high will extend a ridge across Victoria on Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms. Mild to warm with a fresh to strong northerly wind, shifting cooler west to southwesterly over western areas.Saturday 29 OctoberAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms contracting eastwards through eastern districts during the afternoon. Isolated showers to follow on and south of the ranges, scattered in the southeast. Moderate northwest to westerly winds in the east at first, but cooler, fresh south to southwesterly winds gradually extending throughout.Fire Danger -  Low to ModerateSunday 30 OctoberScattered showers on and south of the ranges, tending isolated in the north. Cooler with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.Monday 31 OctoberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges. Dry over the north. Cool with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 1 NovemberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges. Dry over the north.
