Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 28/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge towards Queensland, while a cold front moves through much of NSW today and through the northeast of the state on Sunday. It's passage is expected to be accompanied by showers and thunderstorms in many districts. Behind the front, a slow moving high approaches from the west. This high will be the dominating influence over the state through to next weekend.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the south and west at first, mostly shifting to central and eastern districts during the day and becoming scattered across much of the east. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast, and a south to southwesterly change extending over the remainder.Sunday 30 OctoberIsolated showers in the east, becoming scattered in the northeast during the afternoon, with possible thunderstorms. Fine and partly cloudy in the west. Southwest to southeast winds extending throughout.Monday 31 OctoberIsolated showers along the northern coast, easing. The chance of a few clearing showers about the central coast and northern ranges. Southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 1 NovemberThe chance of showers about parts of the coast and eastern ranges, otherwise fine. Southwest to southeast winds, turning northeasterly along parts of the coast during the afternoon.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.Product IDN10031
