Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 28/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over Eyre Peninsula is moving eastwards and will extend over the remainder of the State this afternoon and evening. A front is expected to move over southern coasts on Saturday then a new high pressure system will develop southwest of the Bight, where it will remain until late next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms north of about Naracoorte to Adelaide to Cook, except the far northeast, contracting northwards during the evening. Thunderstorms increasing to scattered over the Northwest Pastoral. Isolated showers in the south. Light to moderate northwest to southwest winds.Saturday 29 OctoberIsolated showers about the agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts and ranges during the day. Showers scattered about the Lower South East during the morning. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms north of about Woomera contracting north and easing during the day. Cool to mild with moderate southerly winds.Sunday 30 OctoberIsolated showers about the coasts and ranges contracting to the Lower South East coast by evening. Isolated showers in the far north tending to patchy rain at times in the north of the Northwest Pastoral. Cool to mild with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh about southern coasts.Monday 31 October
Isolated showers about the Lower South East coast. Fine elsewhere apart from isolated showers about the far north, contracting to the far northwest during the day . Mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.
Tuesday 1 November
Isolated showers about the Lower South East coast. Fine elsewhere apart from isolated showers about the far northwest, clearing later.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm southwest of Oodnadatta to Renmark but north of Naracoorte to Adelaide to Cook, with local falls of 15 to 35 mm in the thunderstorms over the Northwest Pastoral. Up to 5 mm is expected elsewhere.
Wednesday until FridayA high pressure system over the western Bight will remain near stationary. Isolated showers will persist about the Lower South East and extend into far west on FridayThe next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
