Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 28/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge to eastern New South Wales, while a trough of low pressure lies to the west. Between these two systems a generally northerly airstream is moving across the state, drawing warmer and more humid air down from the tropics. This trough, and an associated cold front, will progress into western parts of New South Wales this evening, before continuing to central and eastern parts during the weekend. It's passage is expected to be accompanied by showers and thunderstorms in many districts, before moving away to the Tasman Sea later Sunday and Monday. Behind this, the next high approaching from the west is forecast to strengthen across the region, with most areas seeing a return to fine and stable conditions.
