Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 27/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will develop over the Bight today, before moving eastwards across Victoria Friday afternoon and during Saturday. A slow moving high pressure system will form over the Bight during Sunday as the trough moves eastwards across the Tasman Sea. The high will extend a ridge across Victoria on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers developing over the southwest during the evening. Mild to warm with light to moderate northeast winds and freshening easterly seabreezes along the coast.Friday 28 OctoberAreas of rain developing in the west during the morning and extending to eastern districts by the evening. Mild to warm with a fresh to strong northerly wind, shifting cooler southwesterly over western areas during the day. The chance of a thunderstorm with the change.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate.Saturday 29 OctoberAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms contracting eastwards through northeast districts during the afternoon. Isolated showers persisting on and south of the ranges. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds at first shifting to cooler fresh and gusty west to southwest winds throughout.Sunday 30 OctoberScattered showers on and south of the ranges, tending isolated in the north. Cooler with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.Monday 31 OctoberScattered showers on and south of the ranges, tending isolated in the north.
